🔒 100% On-Device AI Security Guarantee
PPE Scan runs all computer vision neural networks exclusively within your physical device's local memory (Edge AI). No camera frames, photos, facial biometrics, or video streams are ever uploaded to cloud servers or third-party brokers.
1. Device Permissions & Purpose of Use
In accordance with Google Play Developer Policies, PPE Scan requests only essential permissions strictly necessary for safety inspection functionality:
A. Camera Permission (android.permission.CAMERA)
- Purpose: Used exclusively for real-time visual inspection to detect Personal Protective Equipment (Hardhats, High-Visibility Vests, Safety Boots, and Fall Protection Harnesses) on workers.
- Data Handling: Camera frames are processed transiently in volatile device memory (RAM) in real time and are immediately discarded. Live feeds are never recorded, stored, or transmitted over any network.
B. Storage & Media Permissions (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES)
- Purpose: Allows the safety officer/auditor to optionally:
- Select existing job-site photos from the gallery for automated AI inspection.
- Export annotated safety inspection photos and official audit PDF documents directly into the device's standard
Download folder.
- Data Handling: All generated PDF documents and exported inspection pictures remain strictly on your physical device under your sole ownership.
C. In-App Purchases (com.android.vending.BILLING)
- Purpose: Facilitates the optional one-time purchase of the PPE Scan Pro Lifetime Upgrade ($4.95 USD) to unlock watermark-free exports and custom corporate logos.
- Data Handling: All transactions are handled directly and securely through Google Play In-App Billing. DLab Studios never collects, stores, or accesses credit card details or financial information.
2. Data Collection, Retention, and Sharing
- Zero Data Collection: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, device serials, Advertising IDs (AAID), or GPS geographical coordinates.
- Zero Third-Party SDK Tracking: The application contains no third-party advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, or user telemetry collectors.
- Local Persistence: Inspector names, company titles, and inspection checklists are stored locally on the device via encrypted SharedPreferences. Uninstalling the application completely purges all local data.
